A Message from our Founder

My name is Salamatu Issifu, and Aserewa is my heart on a plate.
We opened in 2021 not the easiest time, but perhaps the most necessary. While the world slowed down, people still needed to eat, and more than that, they needed comfort. That’s what pushed me to open my doors.

Aserewa means something small but significant and that’s exactly how we began. A small kitchen, a clear vision, and a stubborn belief that Ghanaian food deserves to be celebrated, not just eaten. From jollof rice carrying the smoky kiss of the fire, to kontomire stew that tastes like it was made by someone who loves you every dish I put out tells a story.

I chose 21 Kofi Annan Avenue because I wanted to be in the heart of a community. North Legon is vibrant, diverse, and always hungry and I showed up to match that energy with fresh ingredients and honest cooking.

Today, Aserewa is more than a restaurant. It’s where colleagues grab a quick waakye, where families gather over a big pot of light soup, and where anyone craving a real taste of Ghana knows they’ll never leave disappointed.

Thank you for pulling up a chair.
